Using cell phones at petrol filling station may lead to severe fires

There is always static electricity in mobile phones. It can be the source of spark and can cause fire when it comes into contact with petrol fumes. Sources reveal that it is the static electricity from the mobile phones which can spark off fire when it comes in contact with fumes of petroleum products that may be released while filling your car or scooter tank. This static electricity is also the cause of shock when you touch your sweater.

Using mobile phones ( such as attending calls, messaging) should be avoided while standing at the petrol pump station because mobile phones that light up when switched on,or when they ring ,may have enough energy released to provide a shock.
